In response to recent trade developments, Mickle Macks owner, Gina Csiffary, has made a significant change in the company's operations. Instead of sourcing inventory from the United States, she has pivoted her approach. Gina is now crafting wool and fur-felted fedoras, trilbies, and western-style hats in her own Ottawa studio. This strategic shift not only involves the owner's hands-on creation process but also a significant investment in specialized tools and equipment to support this commitment to local production.
This change reflects a meaningful and deeply personal decision, made to support the Canadian economy, celebrate local craftsmanship, and offer customers a collection of the highest standards without compromising her own principles. At some point, one must put their money where their mouth is and become the maker themselves.
